Most writing about this role is recruiting copy. The craft — how you run discovery when the stakeholder is hostile, how you scope something you have never seen before, when to build the throwaway version — gets passed around verbally and never written down.
That gap is what the book is for. It is organised around the shape of a real deployment rather than a list of technologies, because the technologies change and the judgment does not.
